We are seeking an organized, knowledgeable, and people-oriented Human Resources Coordinator to join our administrative team. This position plays a critical role in supporting the College’s employees while ensuring compliance with California employment laws and HR best practices. Position Summary The Human Resources Coordinator is responsible for managing the day-to-day human resources functions of the College, including recruitment, onboarding, employee relations, compliance, performance management, benefits administration, training, and HR policy development. The successful candidate will serve as a trusted resource for employees and management while helping maintain a positive, professional, and compliant work environment. Key Responsibilities Recruitment & Hiring Coordinate recruitment activities, including job postings, candidate screening, interview scheduling, and reference checks. Assist hiring managers throughout the recruitment and selection process. Develop strategies to attract and retain qualified candidates. Coordinate and facilitate new employee onboarding and orientation. Employee Relations Serve as a resource for employee questions, concerns, and workplace issues. Promote a respectful, collaborative, impartial, and positive work environment. Support employee engagement and conflict resolution initiatives. Maintain confidential employee records and HR documentation. Compliance & Human Resources Administration Ensure compliance with California labor laws and applicable federal employment regulations. Maintain accurate employee records using HR software and internal systems. Assist with affirmative action initiatives and other regulatory compliance requirements. Develop, update, and maintain employee policies and the Employee Handbook. Support HR projects and process improvements to increase operational efficiency. Benefits, Leave & Payroll Support Coordinate employee benefits administration, including health insurance and paid time off. Work closely with payroll to ensure accurate employee records and compensation information. Monitor employee leave requests and maintain attendance records. Training & Performance Management Coordinate employee performance evaluations and feedback processes. Organize employee training, orientation, compliance education, and professional development programs. Support leadership in developing workforce training initiatives. Qualifications Required Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field (Master's degree preferred). Minimum of 2–3 years of Human Resources experience. Strong knowledge of California labor laws and HR best practices. Excellent interpersonal, organizational, and communication skills. Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise sound judgment. Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Office and HR information systems. Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment. Preferred Experience in higher education, vocational education, or healthcare. Knowledge of FERPA, HIPAA, and employment compliance requirements. Experience with employee training, performance management, and policy development. Project management experience is a plus. The ideal candidate is: Professional, approachable, and service-oriented.
