Help Center

How Glenlist works — posting, browsing, editing, payments, and what happens when a listing expires. If your question is about the safety of a listing or a person, start with the Safety Center instead.

How to post a listing

Posting runs as a short wizard. Start at Post an ad — you will need an account, and you will need to have verified your email.

  1. Pick a category and subcategory. This determines which fields you are asked for and what the listing costs, so choose the closest match rather than the broadest one.
  2. Fill in the details. The form changes per subcategory — a job asks for pay and employment type, a rental asks for rooms and square footage, a vehicle asks for year and mileage.
  3. Add photos and contact details. Use your own photos of the actual item. Listings with stolen or stock images get reported and removed.
  4. Preview. Check how the listing reads before it goes live.
  5. Choose a plan. Some categories are free; others are a one-time fee or a subscription. Optional Featured placement and badges are offered at the same step.
  6. Publish. Free listings publish immediately. Paid listings and add-ons activate once payment is confirmed, which is usually seconds but can take a moment to settle.

Write a specific title, give a real price, say where in Los Angeles County the item is, and describe the actual condition. Vague listings get fewer replies and more time-wasting messages.

Browsing and searching

  • Browse everything from All listings, or start from a category below.
  • Filters differ by category — price range, location, rooms, mileage, salary, and so on. Applied filters live in the page URL, so you can bookmark a search or send it to someone.
  • Save listings you are interested in with the favorite control on any listing card; they collect in your profile under Favorites.
  • Contact details are shown on the listing itself. Glenlist does not relay messages between users.

Editing and managing listings

  • Your listings are under My listings in your profile.
  • Edit a live listing from its detail page or from that list. Corrections to the price, description, and photos are expected — that is better than reposting.
  • Sold or filled? Take the listing down rather than leaving it up. It saves everyone the messages.
  • Avoid posting the same item repeatedly to move it up the page. Duplicates get reported and removed.
  • Add Featured placement or a badge to a listing that is already live from the same profile screen — you do not need to repost it.

Payments and refunds

  • What a listing costs is set by its category. The exact plans and add-ons available to your listing are shown at the checkout step before you pay.
  • Payments are processed by Stripe. Glenlist does not store your card details, and we will never ask for payment by gift card, wire transfer, or cryptocurrency.
  • If you buy more than one item — for example a plan plus Featured placement — you may be taken through more than one payment step. Finish all of them or part of the order stays unpaid.
  • Paid features activate automatically once payment confirms. If something you paid for has not activated, reload the listing first, then email [email protected] with the listing ID and the date of the charge.
  • For a refund request, contact us with the listing ID and the charge date and describe what went wrong. Refunds are handled case by case.
  • Glenlist does not process payments between buyers and sellers. Money you send another user goes directly to them — see payment safety.

Listing expiration

Listings do not stay up indefinitely. Each listing carries its own expiration date, shown on the listing itself and in your list of created listings — check there for the date that applies to a specific listing rather than assuming a fixed window.

  • An expired listing stops appearing in browse and search results.
  • If the item is still available, post it again with current photos, an accurate price, and an updated description.
  • Subscription-based listings stay active while the subscription is active; cancelling stops the renewal.

Reporting a problem

  • A suspicious or fraudulent listing: follow the checklist under Report a listing and email us the listing URL, what is wrong, and screenshots.
  • A problem with your own account, listing, or charge: see Contact us for what to include.
  • What is and is not allowed: see the Terms of Service.
  • What we collect and why: see the Privacy Policy.
